Why I joined Arbonne

I joined Arbonne over a year ago in late November of 2006. But let me back up a little and tell you a little about my background and why I joined Arbonne in the first place.

After graduating college I’d planned to go on to law school. I took my L-SAT's and began collecting applications for when my scores came back. During that interim a fellow I had been dating introduced me to an opportunity as a business consultant with a company that was then called L.A. Cellular. I decided to put Law School on hold to pursue this opportunity because I discovered that I would be able to make more money in my first year than I'd make as a first year lawyer. Since I hadn't even paid off my undergraduate loans yet putting off accruing another 100k in new debt seemed like a great idea. By the first year my loans were paid off and by the second year I was in the top 5 in the state and I'd won a trip for two to Maui for Presidents Club.

I left the wireless industry to pursue a career in Management at a Laboratory that researched inherited forms of Cancer where I worked as a Sales Manager covering the entire Northwestern US. Over time I built a team of 8 people that were spread out over 5 states. I flew to different states within my region 2 to 3 times a month, stayed in beautiful hotels and ate out at high class restaurants for 7 years and again made more money than I ever dreamed possible. I was living the American Dream. But after 7 years of managing people, which I found to be the harder than I'd ever imagined, despite making great money, and having climbed up the corporate ladder, at the end of the day, I realized that I had no time to myself, no hobbies, my love life suffered because no one wanted a girlfriend or wife for that matter that was sleeping in hotels 3 nights a week. I had bought and sold two homes and ultimately was able to purchase and beautifully remodel my 3rd home in San Francisco at the height of the housing boom. I could go shopping and buy whatever I wanted without even thinking about the balance in my checking account but I had no one to share this all with.

In what my family and friends thought was a sure sign of temporary insanity I quit my job, sold my house and came back to Southern California where I was originally from. I decided to pursue a career in acting full time since this was always a dream of mine. I took my entire savings, the proceeds from the sale of my house and for a year and a half I took every class possible to catch up with the rest of the actors out there trying to make it in Hollywood. I joined an industry where the youth and beauty is paramount and although I was only in my thirties I was faced with the reality that I was getting in very late in the game. Although I had always taken care of my skin, I took a new interest in looking younger and slowing down the process of aging which is where Arbonne entered my life.

One of my best friends that I’d known since high school was having her 40th birthday party at a hotel and after the party we girls had a mini slumber party and one of her guests that came was with Arbonne. We tried the entire NutriMinC RE9 line that night, she sprayed our bedding with the "Unwind" Aromatherapy spray and my introduction to Arbonne was born. A few months later I bought the entire RE9 line but I wasn't interested in doing the business because I had been sucked into several multi-level marketing companies in my life time and had never been successful, and remember I had come back to So.CA.to pursue acting. Although I had made some progress with my acting career after a year and a half, I hadn’t banked on was how fast my savings would go. I agreed to sit down with (then DM and now Area Manager) Mona Nigro, a lady that I had also attended high school with but since she was younger that I was I didn’t really know her back then. Everything she described about Arbonne sounded almost too good to be true but since I didn’t want to go back to work full time which would mean giving up on my acting career I decided I had nothing to lose. I have to take a moment to thank Mona here because she responded to countless calls and e-mails from me with paranoid notions of how Arbonne might have some loophole in the comp plan that would ultimately prove that my initial fears were valid and this was just too good to be true. But no matter how hard I tried I could find nothing wrong with the comp plan or the success strategy. In fact every time I thought of a new way that the company was going to some how take advantage of me I was pleasantly surprised that no only were my fears unfounded but that Arbonne had several safety nets in place like the Reserve Account that helps us in case we have a bad month. In fact I have never heard of a company that will protect their consultants in such a way.

Since starting my business I have actually put acting on the back burner, not because I have to but because I am having so much fun with my Arbonne business. I am beginning to see the fruits of my labor so fast that I am hooked and I don’t want anything to get in the way of my journey to the top. I have time for myself, I love the way my skin looks and feels and I know that I will be successful because I am following the proven recipe for success that so many before me have followed. Most of all I never feel alone because Arbonne’s success plan rewards each of us for helping others become successful. I have more friends than I've had in years because when you are happy with who you are and you love yourself, you give off a positive energy that everyone that comes in contact with you can see and feel so people are naturally drawn to you. I know that soon I'll find love again because I love who I am now more than ever.
